Unterengstringen, 28.04.2025 (PresseBox) - Federal Councilor Guy Parmelin traveled to Washington last week accompanied by an official delegation and the Embassy of Switzerland in the United States. The high-ranking delegation visited the technology firm WEY Technology Inc., a subsidiary of the Canton of Zurich-based WEY Group. By making this trip in person, the Head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs offered a strong show of support for Swiss technology companies in the US. These companies are currently operating in a challenging market environment.

As a leading provider of high-quality control room systems and trading floor solutions, WEY Technology Inc. is exposed to intense international competition and challenging price pressure in the US market. Even minor changes in the regulatory framework – such as the introduction or threat of additional tariffs – can have far-reaching consequences when it comes to competitiveness. Such changes also have far-reaching consequences for the Swiss economy, given that WEY Technology Inc. specializes in complete IT solutions that are used primarily in security-critical areas, such as energy supply, financial services, aviation and public security.
